UMD holds approvals with the major qualifications agencies, such as ABS and DNV, is authorized to perform Special Periodic Surveys on Mobile Offshore Drilling Units (MODU) and general vessels that are required to meet intermediate or five-year classification requirements.
UMD performs a complete array of MODU inspections, such as topside and leg, derrick, hoisting/lifting equipment, top drive, mud pump and draw work, and 5th and 6th generation drill floor equipment inspections.
